We all come across experts, people who know their specialist area. But in reality what makes them different.
Whilst out yesterday a friend asked me to fix his mobile phone, it hadn’t been working all day. Expecting that I could just do some IT magic and presto all working again. I tried calling him and then him me and as expected no response.
What do I do? He asks……… Expert advice follows – turn it off, remove the battery and it will work. The strangest of looks from him and disbelief conveying the ‘as if’ mentality.
5 mins later my phone rings, all working again because he’d followed the advice. he also had a golf lesson to rectify his slice this week – the experts advice…..’Just hit it’ – Did it work in his golf day this week? Yes is the answer to pint that they won…..
So when in business we can al try and do various things and struggle on but sometime it’s well wormy asking a expert. In both cases mentioned the advice was free and worked. An expert knows where to go and what to do, it might only be a simple solution but it’s due to the knowledge of the person providing the advice.
Be very careful of the people out there claiming to be experts and there not much more than a little spurt……
However don’t think you can all ask long questions from e for free, but it’s worth a try…..
